I'll be uploading something on thesixtyone.com/bishely tomorrow (Tues 29th) at about 4:30pm GMT. Also, I had a horrible dream last night.

*Yawn*

As ever, I’ve left blogging til right before bed, so apologies if this doesn’t make sense.

By the very fact you’re reading this, you must be reading this. I however am, at this moment, not sure if anyone’s reading this… So erm, leave a comment at the bottom, if you have time…

Anyway, you (since you’re reading this, yes, I’m addressing you) might be interested to know I’ll be uploading something new to my profile on thesixtyone tomorrow/later today (Tues 29th) at around four-thirty in the afternoon (GMT). If you have nothing better to do, you might like to sit on the page pressing refresh, so that you stand the best chance of ‘discovering’ the track, which earns you a percentage of the hearts or something, I dunno. I still haven’t mastered the rules of thesixtyone – it’s a bit like Dungeons and Dragons, but with music instead of the dragons.

Got to sleep. Last night I had a horrific dream which got worse and worse and worse. I’ll write it up in graphic detail for your (assuming you’re reading this – let’s not start that again) reading pleasure tomorrow sometime.

G’night,

Bish x

A new track by Parker AirBish has been posted up on our soundcloud site. Check it out, and/or stream it right here.

Hello.

Just a quick word (need sleep, again) to inform you the Parker AirBish soundcloud page has been updated again. There’s now two songs for you to stream. The new one is called “Grind and Bump/Queen of the Dancefloor”, and it’s an original track by me, featuring a genuinely awesome vocal by Parker Airspace. I’ve provisionally tagged it with the genre “Fuzzy Death Glam Pop”, which kinda sums it up, kinda.

Since I love you, I’ve also embedded it below…

<param name="allowscriptaccess"

Hope y’all enjoy.

I'm in Tooting, tired, but proactive. I need a job and I've gotten fat. The collabs are ongoing. Musical updates to this site and all my profiles will happen eventually. Honest.

Bed soon. Too late. Couldn’t sleep.

I’m settling in in Tooting now. Got my own keys at last. Already made plans for the next two or three weeks. Still looking for work though. Anyone want to employ me? I’ll consider anything, as long as it’s not too demeaning. And I’m not considering fast-food jobs too demeaning at this particular juncture, so basically anything that doesn’t involve wearing a collar and being someone’s bitch.

Anyway, what I meant to say was, now I’m beginning to settle, I will soon be able to return to normal service on the various sites linked in the bar on the right. New uploaded content etc. Also, the much-talked-about online shop for Mr Bish cds, downloads, ringtones, and assorted merchandise paraphernalia will surface in the next week or two – it’s only taking time because I have to decide on the right artwork for the as-yet-unreleased stuff, and upload all the old artwork for the stuff I’ve previously self-released (read: given away to friends and passing strangers) and check and double check everything’s right before hitting the publish button.

In other news, the Parker Airspace/Mr Bish collaboration continues. And I’ve recently recorded some songs by another very talented singer-songwriter. And I may launch yet another pseudonymous side-project (possibly) in the next few months. It’s all happening, as they used to say in the 70s (if Almost Famous is to be believed).

Oh, and rumour has it, if you go to thesixtyone.com/bishely and buy some of my music, I might see fit to send you more music, for free. I’ve made a mini EP of old/rare tunes for someone who did just that (which I still haven’t sent, so if you’re reading this SuperJay, you’ll have it by the weekend, I promise).

What else? Oh, I’m fat. I have been for a while, but the realisation has been creeping home gradually. I’ve been unfit since I was about 15, but in the last year or so I have become fat, for the first time in my life. Like all mothers, mine tells me I’ve “just filled out”, which has the unwelcome effect of making me wonder if I have body issue problems, but the fact I can now pinch a chunk of flab on my belly suggests that my mother is actually just lying to spare my feelings. So far I have combatted the problem with a regimen of occasionally doing a quick workout on the stairs, and counterbalancing that with fastfood, but I’m tending towards actually going on a diet, another first in my lifetime. I tell you this not because I want sympathy or support (or mocking crudity), but because I think if I actually put it in writing, on here, I might actually listen to myself and do it.

So there’s a definite risk this may turn into another one of those terribly annoying diet-blogs (which I hate) over the next few weeks, but hopefully anyone reading won’t hate me too much for that. I’ll keep the dietary bits brief, and balance them with musical stuff.

Right, like I said, sleepy.
G’night

I might have swine flu, and the site may be up and down over the weekend.

I feel like pooh. Moving into my new home in London on Monday – the plan was to go today (Friday), but it went to pot owing to the mobitix site being broken in the north west (stupid servers), and me not getting my arse in gear getting a south-based mate to book for me. Went to see parents last Monday, one just getting over swine flu and the other just coming down with it. They didn’t tell me it was swine flu til I got there, then insisted they weren’t infectious. And now I feel like pooh, and it’s bound to only get worse since I’ve only had weak symptoms so far. I hate getting a cold, never mind sodding flu. Grumble.

Anyway, site updates may occur over the weekend, so things might appear and disappear at random. But I’m not convinced anyone’s reading anyway, so it shouldn’t matter. Just thought I’d put the warning out there, just in case.

Ok, the name’s not brilliant, but we haven’t got that far yet…

Mr Bish and Parker Airspace are pleased to announce the arrival of their new collaborative SoundCloud Page @ /parkerairbish. Stream the first track “Iona” now; more to come soon!

So there’s the latest news. I’ll upload some of the other rougher tracks later on. I asked Nick earlier today about starting a SoundCloud page to test the water with what we’ve been brewing up together, and he was keen, so now it’s up. Have a listen, let’s hear what you think, good or bad. But try to be nice!

Update:

I’ll upload tracks every Wednesday, so people have time to digest them. For now, you can stream Iona right here:

Four new songs on SoundCloud. Stream the newest (and also kinda oldest) one here.

This month, I’ve already uploaded four tracks to my SoundCloud page, but I’d just like to share one of them with you. It’s a first demo of a song I wrote about seven years ago on the piano in our student house in Huddersfield. I’ve tried recording it many, many times since then, but the arrangements have always felt a bit stale.

I think this arrangement works, although in the final version the acoustic guitars will probably be replaced by electrics, the rhythm section will be a bit more embellished and groovy, and I’ll probably add some synthesizers and swap an upright piano for the squashed grand piano noise. It ought to give you the general idea though, and that’s the point of first demos. Oh and there will be singing. Oh yes. Singing.

In seven long years, I still haven’t thought of a decent name for this. I might go with “I Can Think What You’re Telling”, but better suggestions are welcome – for the record, it’s about the feeling of being with someone you love in the rain at night and not minding or even really noticing that it’s cold, dark and wet, and half-expecting everything to fade to black like a happy ending in an arty weepy romantic film. I hope you like it.

Ok, so I know this is later than planned. I got back later than planned, fiddled with a mix of one of the collaboration tracks I’ve been working on with Parker Airspace, restrung my guitar, and fell asleep. I’ve just woken up, realised it’s gone 3am and I forgot to do my big launch. I missed my own fanfare. So don’t feel too guilty if you weren’t sat hitting refresh all night. And if you were, my sincerest apologies, but may I kindly suggest you find better things to do of a Friday night?

Anyway, I’m going back to bed, but you can now stream some Mr Bish tracks (via SoundCloud) on a special page here, read this terribly witty blog post, and read a short page explaining what this site is about. Ta da!

More will come over the next week. Fondest of welcomes to you; thank you, come again.
